Fearless Vision

Welcome to a different type of blog for my website. Hell Yeah (that was my inside voice)! This blog is created as a space to discuss how people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and our allies see our multifaceted identity in the world. I am a proud gay Black Southern man with a lot of freaking layers to my personality and spirit that I hope will keep you intrigued. The first blog is entitled Fearless Vision. Lately, I have been thinking, meditating, and reflecting about the aspects of ourselves that we are not ashamed of seeing and being in the world.

The reason I entitled this blog Fearless Vision is to empower readers to present their authentic self in a society that attempts to constrict us into a solitary label (ex. race, gender norms, etc.). Being placed in a box, further complicates the sense of duality or double consciousness in which we exist with in the world, which may not always be a good thing. It is my hope that we have a vision for our lives that allows all of us to live our lives boldly with purpose. Each piece that you will read in this blog will have music and/or video and pics as well that integrate into the overall artistic inspiration of each article. I dare say that the best part about you is that you are not me, and I would like to try my best to honor all of my parts. I ask in our discussion and dialogue in these blogs that we honor our truth but also honor that we all wish to be heard and respected. Our existential hope is unified, because I believe that our human condition in life is grounded in somethings that we all value: the capacity to dream, hope, and find unconditional love and acceptance. –Ashe & Namaste
