Supervision for Therapists: A New Chapter in My Practice

One of the things I’ve always loved about being a therapist is how much there is to learn—about people, about healing, and about ourselves. No matter how long you’ve been doing this work, it’s an ongoing process of growth, refinement, and deepening presence.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors and supervisors who helped me navigate the complexity of this profession with both skill and heart. Their guidance didn’t just make me a better clinician—it helped me stay grounded and human while holding space for others.

Now, I’m grateful to be in a position to offer that same kind of support to other therapists.

Why Supervision Matters

Supervision is more than a requirement for licensure—it’s a place of reflection, integration, and encouragement. It’s where we can safely explore what’s working in our sessions, where we get stuck, and how our own stories intersect with the work we do.

In supervision, we talk about technique, yes—but we also talk about the therapist as a person. We look at countertransference, ethical concerns, self-care, and how to sustain authenticity in this work without burning out.

My goal is to help therapists cultivate confidence, clarity, and compassion—both for their clients and for themselves.

Who I Work With

I offer supervision for pre-licensed therapists working toward LPC, LCSW, or LMFT licensure in Pennsylvania. I also welcome seasoned clinicians who are seeking ongoing consultation or a reflective space to continue growing in their practice.

My background is rooted in trauma-informed, psychodynamic, and person-centered approaches, with an emphasis on relational depth and the therapeutic process itself. I work with supervisees from a range of modalities and theoretical orientations.

What to Expect

Supervision with me is collaborative and conversational. Together, we’ll explore real cases, your clinical development, and the emotional landscape of being a therapist. I aim to create a space that balances professional rigor with compassion—a place where you can show up as yourself, learn, and feel supported in the work you do.

Sessions are available virtually or in person at my Pittsburgh office.

Closing Thoughts

Therapy is a profoundly human endeavor. It asks us to bring our intellect, our intuition, and our capacity for empathy into each encounter. Supervision is where we tend to those same capacities within ourselves.

If you’re seeking a supervisor who values both professional competence and personal authenticity, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this stage of your journey.

Warmly,

Cornelius Holmes, LPC
